900 Buildings in Jakarta Must Have FSM

Jakarta Provincial Government will require for about 900 buildings with 8 floors or more to have Fire Safety Manager (FSM).
In the future, FSM will do fire preventing and take care of fire handling equipment in workplace
Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department Head, Subejo, said that this is respond from Governor Regulation No. 143 /2016 about Building Fire Safety Management and Environment Fire Safety Management.
"In the future, FSM will do fire prevention and take care of fire handling equipment in workplace," he said after FSM training for first generation in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, Tuesday (1/24).
2 Entertainment Venues in C. Jakarta Have No the Fire Safety StandardsAccording to him, based on the observation, about 900 buildings must have FSM. Those are buildings which have more than 8 floors, 5,000 square meters wide and occupied by 500 people.
"Gradually, we will give training until every building have FSM," he expressed.
Subejo continued that this effort is one of ways to overcome limited amount of personnel. Buildings which do not have FSM will not be allowed to extend their fire safety certification.
